He is two and could care less about design. Cares how it feels. I'm happy bc it's easy to adjust, he seems ok with weight and size. He's rather taken with it as a style item.

My son choose this pattern over the other available from Giro. He loves it and it looks just adorable. The helmet fits snug and good. A little while ago he fell off his balance bike and badly scratched the front/side of the helmet. I am very luck he wore the helmet and it had a bigger rim to catch the impact before it hits his face or head, without the helmet he would have needed stitches.
I also like that the helmet is made of "softer" material. It will cushion more of a blow when you need than the harder helmets you see at department stores. Of course it also means that the helmet might break faster once you have an accident, but that is kind of the purpose of a helmet - it should break rather than having your skull broken.
I think it is important to have your child wear a helmet. Colorful and fun designs such as this one can help to encourage your child to wear a helmet and make it fun. Not wearing a helmet can mean a trip to the ER to get stitches, even from a very minor fall. Don't learn this the hard way.

I bought this helmet for my 3 year old because his Lil' Bell kept on falling in his face. It is light, fits very well and is fully adjustable for any child. The design is a little weird (pigs in space shuttles) but my son likes it.
