5Great helmet for the price, awkward strap
By Timothy M. Hughes
I must admit, when I first got the helmet I thought the strap design was awkward. Rather than fitting flush with your face, there is clumsy strap design that makes a half twist under both ears. Why they did that I have no idea? My best guess is that it's the only feature that separates the Savant from the more expensive helmets.

I was truly worried that this would be uncomfortable on long rides. However, this is just not the case. On rides, I basically forget I'm wearing the Savant. I certainly don't think about the strap. The helmet is super lightweight, well-vented and comfortable. I got the white and silver model since it won't heat up from the hot summer sun like a black helmet does. Having various sized helmets also means a better fit than a one size fits all design. From the research I did, at the time of purchase I could not find another helmet this light at this price point.

5Lightweight and nice features
By von Diesel
I've been using the Savant for two months for my daily commute to work (13 miles round trip) and recently on a longer 32-mile trail ride. It has been lightweight, comfortable, and the airflow is very good. Fit and finish are good, and there isn't anything on the inside of the helmet that pokes my head or causes discomfort. The strap adjusters and click-wheel on the back make it easy to get a good, snug fit. Also, I think it looks good. I have the Red/Black in medium and the matte finish is nice. I have a 2007 Trek 1000 road bike, and the colors match pretty well. :)

It's true that the Savant costs more than some of the lower-end "budget" helmets, but in my experience it's worth the extra money. If you're looking for a lightweight helmet with some higher-end features, but you don't want to pay higher-end prices, then try the Savant.

However, if you can't justify spending the extra money on the Savant, then try the Bell Lumen instead. My wife has a medium in Blue/White. It's a little heavier, not quite as sleek, and the ventilation isn't quite as good as the Savant, but it has similar features for less money.

5Great helmet for the money!!!
By Elduderino2412
This is a great helmet for what you pay. It has many of the Giro features that would cost almost twice as much. Very light and low profile compared to many of the helmets in it's price range. Also glasses fit pretty well in the slots on forehead.
